When it's tough to get a reservation, the food is usually good. True to form, I found Red Sky Tapas & Bar in East Cobb an enjoyable experience. And, as a Valentine’s Day special, the restaurant has asked back the winners of their singer-songwriter series to play acoustic guitar for your dining pleasure. ![]() Chef Jeffrey McGar For those of you who haven’t had the opportunity of dining in a tapas bar, it is customary to order several items to share. Tapas are typically small hors d’ oeuvre-style food items served two to three pieces per plate. The idea is to experience a variety of food items that you love and some that you are challenged to try. Tapas encourage conversation and comradery among family and friends because people are not focused on eating an entire meal. Red Sky Tapas & Bar has several traditional tapas, along with many signature dishes. It was a good mix of both. In addition, the menu had a legend to identify healthy items. The food presentations were simple, yet visually appealing. My favorite was the fried green tomatoes with goat cheese and chipotle aioli. A Spanish twist on a southern favorite. The meatiness of the tomatoes, complimented by the crispy texture of the breading, gave a nice base to the spicy and smoky chipotle aioli. In addition, the creamy goat cheese nicely offset the bold flavors of the sauce. The menu offers some wonderful dessert options to complete your dining experience. I just could not choose one over the other as they were all appealing. Overall, the menu was moderately priced, providing great value for your dollar. For Valentines Day or any day, I hope you find time to dine at this excellent restaurant. Buen provecho!
